Although no amount of blogging will help bring him back, I am certain that this blog will become something more - a revolution to help insure that no other pet will suffer his horrible fate, and that dog kennels will be regulated! Hello Friends and Dog Lovers,

This is my first post and I will keep it short and sweet.
This blog is dedicated to the love of my life, Bailey Boo. He was the world's sweetest dog - I know everyone says that about their pet, but he was everything to me. More on that later. I need to stop crying and continue fighting for his cause and his legacy.
I am pleading with you - CHECK OUT WHO YOU LEAVE YOUR PETS WITH!!!! I recently left Bailey over the weekend at Camp Diggity Dog in San Diego, California... this company touts 24/7 animal surveillance... well, he was attacked and killed by a dog 3-4 times his size sometime between 6:30PM on Friday and 8:30AM on Saturday.
How do I know this? The owner of this facility put it into email that he was last seen at closing time and discovered in the morning.
14-hours of lapse?? How is this constant surveillance?
Please go to Yelp... go to Outside.In... ask for references... call your vet... DO ANYTHING to prevent this from happening again. Spread the word of mouth - this CANNOT be allowed to go on!!!!!!

**** PLEASE SUBSCRIBE TO THIS BLOG SO THAT I CAN KEEP YOU INFORMED WITH UPDATES REGARDING BAILEY, AND THE FUTURE SAFETY OF YOUR ANIMALS ****

(PS- I had to set the post date to ten years in the future in order to keep it at the top of the chain... If anyone knows how to do this differently, please shoot me an email!)Suddenly Motherlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12924331312050564892noreply@blogger.com22tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5219656600815240858.post-4828619443804489722011-05-12T10:08:00.000-07:002011-05-13T13:30:45.260-07:00Is "Mental Insanity" an Excuse for Animal Abuse? When humans are accused of harming one another, lawyers are brought in to prove that their clients are 'unfit to stand trial', or 'mentally insane'.

These infamous defense claims have been used countless times to give leniency and mercy to those in our society who act without reason, or who cannot differentiate between what is wrong and right. While those who sit on the plaintiff's side of the courtroom typically find this claim as insult to injury, its viability in our legal system is solid.

Now, cross the picket fences that seperate our backyard from our neighbor's and ask if Fido the dog has the same rights as Fred, a man who gunned down by a 'mentally unfit' criminal. Do those who harm our four-legged friends have the right to claim insanity when it comes to justifying their actions of animal abuse?

Take the case of an Aurora, Colorado man who stands accused of shooting his neighbor's dog with a high-powered pellet gun back in May 2010. Craig Deering claims that a Hungarian Vizsla named Kaci, was a dangerous dog who provoked those living in his neighborhood. Those who knew the dog said it was not true, and Deering's attorney said his client needs a psychological evaluation with an emphasis in anger issues.

Anger issues. Who would have guessed?

Since Deering claimed that he simply meant to injure the dog, making Kaci's death an unfortunate byproduct of being shot, he was charged with a misdemeanor and not a felony, outraging animal lovers who were following this case.

A question to ask ourselves is why our pets, who are members of our families, have fewer rights than we do. If Deering had shot a child twice with this gun, he would have been locked up for life- no questions asked.

Sadly, Kaci was nursing a new litter of puppies at the time of her death. While this side note does not carry the same heartwrenching depth of tragedy that would be carried by the death of a human mother who lost her life to murder, it still invokes a true feeling of sadness.

It is obvious that any person who commits murder - whether their victim is a person or a pet - is insane to some degree. By not locking up animal killers, society is giving them the opportunity to accelerate their craft and eventually hurt a child... a mother... an innocent neighbor who maybe played their music too loud. In my opinion, animal abuse is a loud scream for help, and an eerie foreshadowing of future tragedies to come.
They are fully vested in taking care of animals, and a true inspiration to those who love their animals and want to help those who don't have "forever homes"

http://creativeacres.org/ <-- what a GREAT idea!!!! Rehabilitate animals instead of euthanizing them!

http://www.pekesandpoms.com/ <-- only two of the best breeds.

On a side note, I am in love with Charlie, the Pom puppy, and Midnight, the black Pom (http://www.pekesandpoms.com/adoption.html). They're just the cutest breed, aren't they?
I cry almost every time I look at these little guys, and Rowdy just breaks my heart. He reminds me of an older Bailey (if he had been allowed the chance to live to an old and spoiled age...)Suddenly Motherlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12924331312050564892noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5219656600815240858.post-41559897655782438052009-11-20T17:32:00.000-08:002009-11-20T17:32:02.495-08:00Three months and still painful...It's been three months since my little boy died. I still cry almost every day, often for hours at a time. I have received so many emails from people who are outraged and cannot believe that this facility is still in business. I cannot believe it either!!!
I recently read a post by someone who said that everyone who is outraged by this (besides me, being his owner) are "morons". This person went another step further to claim how she ever-so-proudly chose to take her dog to Camp Diggity Dog even AFTER reading about Bailey's torture. I wonder how much the owner paid off this person to post that load of garbage... and the five stars that went along with it. Seriously? I threw up when I read this....
Talk about moron. With all the credible places who actually GIVE A DAMN about animal welfare in San Diego, someone made a decision to patronize this disgusting facility who let an animal die in their care??? Who left their 'clients' alone for 14-16 hours????? Wow!!!!!! Some people surely do not care about their pets and should not be allowed to own them!
I wish I could put more information on here about what CDD offered us to settle this case. It LITERALLY made me throw up... it was a slap in the face!! Penny pinching fools.
I am still working on forming a non-profit to push these shady and incompetent businesses out of the market place. If you are interested in helping out, please shoot me an email. What happened to free speech and public empowerment?I just found out from a disgusted friend that Camp Diggity Dog *where Bailey was mauled by another dog* apparently got my Yelp.com review REMOVED from their site.
Nothing in that 'review' was untrue, except for the "one star" rating I was forced to give.
I received Bailey's autopsy today, and the results are purely terrifying... again, contradictory to what the owner told us.... and proves that Bailey was neglected. and our contract for care was violated.
I cannot believe that Yelp would remove such a VITAL AND IMPORTANT post from their site! People who look at any social network sites do so to become informed consumers, and they do so to avoid being jaded.
What if another dog perished here in the past, they posted to Yelp and their post was removed??
Q: What if I could have read that particular post and taken my dog elsewhere?
A: Bailey would still be here; our family would be intact. My heart would be whole. That's what.

This just proves that there is so much distrust and grossness in this world. The First Ammendment is here to allow everyone who has a voice to SPEAK UP and tell others what happened to them.
If I am not allowed to talk about my dog being killed by oversight by a person, why can people rage public outcries against Michael Vick? IT'S THE SAME THING!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, certain people seem to believe that animals should not have a voice and try to silence their owners. This is simply dispicable and cannot be allowed!

Bailey, my baby, you did not die in vain - your bark WILL be heard!!!!!!
Suddenly Motherlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12924331312050564892noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5219656600815240858.post-2530799616222829632009-08-20T16:18:00.001-07:002009-08-20T16:23:32.721-07:00Dogs= Unconditional LoveThis video made me laugh for the first time in days.
